Christmas and Birthdays

I have had great birthday and christmas celebrationsss this year. Its been so hectic..crazy partying almost everyday for the last week. I am grateful for the birthday celebrations i had this year :) and also the detoxifying of my stomach due to excess vomitting...All these celebrations made me forget my loneliness in the festive season and on the contrary..feel loved! The celebrations started with steamboat at my place on the 22nd. It was Dong Zhi and its a long time tradition where farmers will finally finish harvesting their crops and go back to their family for reunion.

It was the company Batam trip the next day! Josh decided to reward us for the year's hard work with a fully expenses paid trip to Batam. Played volleyball and some water polo in the day before heading back to the hotel for the party at night. The theme for the party was 'Kids R Us'. Not alot dressed up due to the recent furore in the company(the feeling of partying is not there)..Had a crazy night in the bar which will book solely for us. We had the whole dancefloor to ourselves! But the amount of people using it was quite little as most of the people who went weren't really interested in partying.. Heck. I am already in Batam..i was going to make full use of it to enjoy myself. Danced from the first song till we dropped. Expenses?? Ten singapore dollars.

Went back to Singapore on my birthday and rushed out to meet my buddies for a christmas dinner at ECP Timbre. The place was really windy and cosy. 53A was playing that night to my excitement. I have always liked the female singer Sara, i thought her vocals are damn soulful and nice. I was the only birthday boy present that day and she gave me a dare - that is to go to every table to shake everyone's hand. hah i did just that and got myself a free beer from her during their break. Took the chance to take a few photos with her as well ;)

Gift exchange was a little more interesting this year as i invented a game to pass around the presents. I ended up getting Kian Siong's present for the third year running.. hah Love the book he gave me, I feel its totally for me. I will read it and pass on the quotes to everyone i meet in life. Tried the waterfall for the first time..one glass was enough to make me puke three times...the first was right in front of Sara....omg.

My family celebrated my birthday for me the next morning. Mummy bought a super nice durian cake for me. It was a simple affair but a meaningful one. Love them :))

Lastly my christmas/birthday celebrations ended with the annual CS party! We booked the largest suite in a boutique hotel in Chinatown for the party. The theme of the party was mismatched - that is we have to dress up in totally mismatching outfits. I wore my helmet, geeky specs, cowboy shirt and board shorts. HAHA. Had lots of fun in the hotel room playing several games. I love my CS group, the different personalities present in the group makes it very interesting. All we need is a camera and a place to seat down..we can hang out all day long. However i have a gut feeling..that this will be our last christmas party together...schools gonna end this year..and people are drifting away...sigh.

Finally managed to chalk something off my wishlist. I bought a iPhone!!! woohooo!! thanks to bro's capitaland vouchers :)) Now with my new 12gb data plan, i can surf facebook, twitter and so much more on the go! I have also cleared all my debts before moving on to the new year. Hoping for better luck in 2010 :) Next up..NYE's party before KL road trip!! GOGOGO

Shopping Spree!

Went on a shopping spree today with Levin and Kerui in the afternoon at Queensway followed by town at night with Darren. Haven't felt so shiok buying so many things for a long time. Here's the tale of how everything started..

My main intention of the day was to buy two christmas gifts for my christmas exchanges. These two are beautifully wrapped by me with the help of Darren. Levin wanted to get something from Queensway so i agreed to tag along with her and Kerui. Then i saw this...

Nice? hahs fell in love with it at first sight. I bought it even though its Nike who is notorious for being less durable then Adidas. I can wear this out, go play sports with it and to play soccer as well, killing three birds with one stone! Its a new model and cost me $75 (U.P. $89). Then in the afternoon, I proceeded to town to purchase the xmas gifts with Darren. While walking past Beetlebug..i saw this..

My birthday month..30% off. Buy more save more as Shuhua says. 不买对不起自己! And this costs me another $35...Juz when i thought i couldn't spend no more..Darren(the devil) intro-ed me this pair of geeky specs. The legs are framed with leather, making it look more high class. Guess the price? A measly $12.

This concludes my shopping for the day. A total of $150++ spent. Quite alot for a peasant like me who will normally think thrice before buying anything. :)) Happy day!

Happy Lunar Birthday~

Happy lunar birthday to me! hahs today is my chinese birthdayy~ Had a sumptuous vegetarian dinner wif mummy at chinatown. She said the reason why we eat vegetarian food on our birthdays is to repay the gods for blessing us throughout the year. Today is a happy and sad day. Happy because of my birthday~ and sad...because its also my last working day at Hwa Chong Institution. After 3-4 office jobs, there have never been one which i will look forward to go to work everyday until i came to work at HCI. I realised sometimes its not all about the job. Its also about the people there. The people at HCI are so kind and loving. My boss feels like my mum, always telling me about her 2 adorable daughters(one of whom she wanted me to marry). She make me feel like settling down and have kids as well! She have such a kind and sincere heart which i can connect to as we are both very much alike, thus we have a great working relationship. She is making me think twice about being a teacher next time. hmmmmmm..should i?

ubinnn!

Had a great time at Pulau Ubin with Super Troopers yesterday ;). Haven't been there for like decades.. haha. Everything is so unfamiliar there now. I was surprised by the conditions of the pier, the living standards and also, the amount of people there on a weekday! We rented bicycle for $5 for a duration of 3 hours. It rained a little in the early afternoon thus the grounds are a little wet. Without the mud guard on the wheels, we kind of got mud flying all over our backs..ewww! Its my first time cycling in a suburban place. The nature reserve is so refreshing and nice from a break in the city life. We went to the highest point in Ubin at the quarry. The view was great and it was really stress relieving as we shouted our hearts out at the edge of the cliff. I'd definitely come again! uuuuubin rocks!

Birthday Surprise

Had a wonderful birthday surprise yesterday, hah 10 days in advance. Initially thought that i would be going to buy Tim's birthday present with levin and darren. Superb acting skills by levin and her disciple Darren who kept me fooled the entire day until just before they are going to surprise me Yi Zhou let out the secret by sms-ing me happy birthday. hah! I feel so lucky to have such great friends :))

Tired..

Next week will be my last week of working at HCI. Finally i will have my tuesdays, thursdays and fridays free for studying. I am pretty sick of working 5 days per week already.Batam trip is confirmed on 23rd and KL on 9th Jan. Somehow i dun really look forward to both..maybe cause i have been too busy/tired to think about them? CS xmas party, CS gatherings, sim gatherings, troopers gatherings, buddies gatherings... I am always the one trying to keep the group together..organising outings and stuff. Yet, i am always the butt of the jokes. People dun take me seriously. I speak something, they'll dismiss me off completely. After putting in so much effort for the group, at the end of the day what do i get? sighh...juz ranting...don't get all judgemental by this post.. :)

Enjoy the little things :)

Been enjoying watching my long hidden movie collection the past few days. Owned Sydney White, Crash, Up, Four Christmases, Sniper, Wanted, My Blueberry Nights, Taken, Overheard and Monster VS Aliens. Wow didn't realised i've watched so much movies as i typed out those titles. Watched Zombieland today and came across this interesting quote; "Enjoy the little things". Yea, enjoying little things will make you a happier person. Laugh at the slightest joke, think in the most positive manner and give the benefit of the doubt when things happen. All these little things are usually forgotten and people tend to harp on the sad things. There's one thing i have ever learned in life is that it goes on. So why stay in the past and not live the present?

Been out almost everyday..Ah Ma looks damn weak today...haven seen her so weak before..God please bless her please..

Dynasty

Went to Dynasty yesterday with my buddies. Really highly recommended for soccer loving people! But not so for girls as that place is quite sleazy. Weekdays it's actually a nightclub. Only on weekends its open to everyone to book for KTV. There are two 32" LCDs in the room; 1 for soccer and the other for KTV. Three hours for $10 only, its quite a good deal!
